"Great place for families with kids because of the large unit sizes and the swimming pool. Units are well equipped for breakfast and small dinners. Superficial cleanliness is great, but don't look under the beds... The property is a 30 min walk from the city center. There are buses, albeit not easy to use."

Ate in the restaurant for dinner and was very impressed with quality of food. Breakfast had good choice but kellogs cornflakes would have been an improvement. "I was promised a room "on the ground floor" which is what I requested because I have arthritis in my knees and have a problem walking up and down the stairs. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have a normal ground floor. To get to your room on the ground floor you have to negotiate 5 stairs down and then 5 stairs up; that made each trip to and from my room a painful experience."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Palace. It is a complex of 5-6 buildings connected with a maze of corridors. It was interesting to wander around. The pool was quite far though and it was inconvenient. The water in the whirlpool was not hot enough, so we only visited twice during our 6 day stay. Breakfast food was great and abundant. There was a way to take an elevator to one of the colonnades, but if you don't figure it out you would have to hike up the hill . I think next time I would pick something more conveniently located to the center. I was also dismayed by the amount of russian tourists in the hotel. I thought the visas were not granted during the conflict."

The included breakfast was yummy with many choices, and the crepes w/fresh strawberries were a favorite. Size of the room w/high ceilings and a balcony was nice for relaxing and enjoying the view of the river walking areas. An overall lovely stay at a nicely remodeled hotel with a sense of history. NOTE: Hotel sits across the street from the end of the bus line making it very convenient to take a connecting bus from the main Karlovy Vary bus station.
