"We had a really nice stay here. The hotel seems to be undergoing renovations, so will likely continue to improve. We stayed in a room that had a recently renovated bathroom which was lovely and clean. We had three comfy beds for my friend and I, and we enjoyed hanging out by the pool. There was no restaurant or bar, but that was okay as we brought some snacks and things. Staff were nice and accomodating. Location is outside of Cairns CBD so we used Ubers and hired a car for part of the stay....

The room itself felt like it was cleaned using only a checklist without any supplemental discretion about whether the room was clean. It appears that they mop the floor with soapy water, but never do anything to rinse it off, and as such the residual soap does what soap is designed to do: attach to dirt. Without the aid of a subsequent washing with water the floor remains dirty and slightly sticky. "
