"We were there to book in at 14:00 when we could book in, our room was not ready! It was not cleaned yet and we had to get ready for a wedding!! We had to wait till 14:50 till they were done cleaning and had to be atvthe wedsing T 16:00. We had to do our make up outside in the heat and was sweating because they were busy and we could not so it in the room with the aircon on. I had to rush doing my and my daughters hair. We were not impressed at all!"

"This is the best place to stay in Pietermaritzburg! The location is perfect for anyone affiliated with the university - literally across the street. You can have breakfast and supper - both excellent - and the hosts are extremely hospitable and helpful. We arrived with a flat tire, and Gys helped us get a new car the next morning. I have seldom experienced a home away from home as warm and welcoming as Ridge on 79. "

"The hotel is attached to a casino which is being refurbished. We therefore found that we were woken by workmen and the interior was a building site. The staff are excellent and compensated for the state of the building. If you intend staying there in the next year, I'd suggest you find out first of all whether the building works have been completed. The food in the restaurants is franchised and was poor - however, again, the staff were totally charming. A new restaurant is due to open later in...

"Great Location, out of the city, but not far from shopping center and local restaurants. 30 minutes away from Durban. Checking-in was easy, and the room was spacious, and the lady receiving us was helpful and guide us where to find food close by. Breakfast was good, and sufficient, service was very good. The only 2 things I would say were bad, is that the hot water run out quick, not enough for 2 people to take hot showers (unless you are quick), that was an issue now that is winter. The other...
