As an equine competition hub, Ocala offers some outstanding locales and niches, priced accordingly. Old Florida is clearly present in the environs, and there's a real charm to that. Hotels are available but pricey.

Ocala wasn't bad for a medium sized town off I-75! Lots of dining options and good shopping selection. It's still FL, so nobody uses turn signals and drive like lunatics, but that's expected. Will visit Ocala again next time we're in the area.
