"Run down hotel double charged me at check out and did not respond to my emails asking for a refund.
At check out the elderly receptionist was confused and could not see that I already pre-paid via hotels.com. So I was forced to pay 680 euro again. The lady promised to check with hotels.com the same day and email me. Now 3 weeks later, I still got no refund. Or any responds. I called 2 times, and emailed with documentation 3 times, only to get the info that she did not get my emails. But after...

"Truly a remarkable property and the 3 generations of family ownership is absolutely wonderful. They couldn't have made us feel any more welcome. My wife cried when she left because it felt like we were leaving long lost friends. If you have the opportunity, don't miss this enchanting place. "

"Room was adequate, but service by proprietors was exceptional and the owner/cook prepared the best confit de canard we may have ever had. The proprietor/hostess was as charming as could be. Definitely to be recommended "

"I wrote a message that I would arrive late around 22. When I arrived there was nobody there and no answer neither on phone nor bell. I had to find another hotel."

"Friendly, convenient authentically French hotel in the heart of Carcasonne. Beautiful gardens to relax in. Fantastic view of medieval city from open / small rooftop area.
Very enjoyable stay"
"What a gem of a find, we stayed for one night whilst travelling from England to Spain. We was warmly greeted on arrival and went straight into the pool after a very long day. The host then prepared a fantastic 3 course home cooked meal with wine. Room was spacious, clean and bed comfy, with a wonderful views over the vineyards. In the morning a lovely prepared breakfast outside and the friendly hosts couldn’t be more accommodating. We will 100% be returning each year as we travel to Spain, thank you so much. "
"The hotel was fantastic facilities were well kept and maintained to a high standard. Really enjoyed the theming of the hotel in a medieval style it was a great touch. Staff were really friendly and were always happy to help. "
"Stayed here twice in the last month, really like close proximity to everything. Staff are outstanding.
Girls at breakfast are very helpful and friendly.

"Lovely hosts who have good recommendations and were very helpful and friendly throughout the stay. The hotel is very peaceful and relaxing, the rooms spacious, and breakfast was lovely. It is a little off the beaten track but that added to the charm for us. Would definitely return. "
"Close to town centre, station, canal du midi. Solidly built building and large room. Bed comfy.
Initial difficulty in that i recieved no coms from landlord. No answer to phonecalls. Reply to my message was that they had no booking for me and that i was mistaken. Later they sent entry codes after i told them i had receipt and would meet at set time in local bar.
Once in I was pleasantly suprised by room and bathroom. "
"What a find! This quiet little corner of Carcassone was so close to the walled city, yet was beautiful to stay at, the staff were incredibly helpful, and the pool was a fantastic spot to cool off in the afternoon. Plus, the decor of the rooms was fantastic (our was hot pink and orange). Could not have been happier with our stay at Hotel Montmorency!"
"Hotel is around 40 mins up a hill from the centre of Carcassone and public transport to get there isn’t good. There isn’t much around there so if you don’t have a car be prepared to get a lot of steps in. The room itself could do with a renovation. "
"Our stay was wonderful. The hosts Sarah, Steve, Katie and Olivier were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and varied. The house was well furnished and very clean. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I would stay here over and over. The hosts were wonderful people. We felt at home with them. "
"The location to the castle is 2 nd to none. A 5 minute walk is all it takes to be at the castle. We booked for Bastille Day. Spent the day walking around . We had lunch then returned to 514 , showered and changed. Returned to the castle for supper . Watched the fireworks display which was breathtaking. Fantastic location. The room was clean and equipped with fridge, 2 ring hob, microwave, coffee maker ( one pod machine and also a filter machine) Well worth a visit and great value for money."

"Having been spectacularly let down by another venue locally - I booked here at short notice. I’m so glad I did - genuinely stunning hotel, brilliant and helpful staff and a wonderful stay overall. I genuinely can’t find fault in any way. "
"The Chaumiere is really the only good hotel in this area, decor feels a little set in the 1990's, but facilities are great and the set menu at the restaurant is a real treat. It has a nice casual feel and a very attentive owner/manager"
"We needed a one night stop to see a concert, the room was great value, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodation and the friendly welcome from the staff. "
"Due to the weather we could not do much it was way too hot however the hotel was only a 2 minute walk to the Carcassonne Castle which was very convenient and the staff were very helpful and always willing to help.
But transportation was very expensive and the distances were far. Otherwise everything was great! "
"Fab hotel, 10 min walk to Carcassonne Le Cite, warm friendly staff, excellent facilities, nice restaurant, outdoor pool with pool bar, food and drink priced at around the same as Le Cite, i would definitely stay here again."
"The property is clean and calm. The location is great, just a couple of minutes walk from the castle.
The manager, Anthony, was very polite and helpful in all our needs, even helped to fix our car. Very pleasant stay.
Highly recommended."
