"The building’s design is fantastic and the main reason we wanted to stay there. It was built in 1994 and in parts it is starting to show its age. The food selection for dinner and

was good and the taste was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend taking the Bawa Tour to learn about the building. Another tip if you are a coffee drinker is to get an expresso or a coffee directly from the machine. The coffee from the jug from the food server is pretty weak."

"Spent two nights, 3 days at this property recently while touring around at Pinnawela, Sigiriya, Dambulla and Minneriya. Great location to visit all those sites. Excellent service with a smile. Buffets were plentiful and delicious, great variety. Pool was so relaxing and lush gardens that were well kept really felt like paradise. "As the hotel name suggests the property is located away from the city's hustle and bustle :) you are immersed in nature and its beautiful surroundings. The staff were welcoming and our check in was quick and smooth. Rooms are spacious with all the necessary amenities. There was enough water pressure from the shower head regardless of the negative comments some guests experienced. Food at the restaurant was deeeeelicious and plenty of varieties from Sri Lankan to international cusines my kids...

"Having just spent 5 nights at this hotel we can definitely recommend it. It was ideally placed for our self organised tour of Sri Lanka and, from here, we visited the iconic sites of Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla and the fabulous Hurulu national park where we saw many elephants. Our lakeside cottage at the hotel was very quaint and we loved sitting on the decking watching the monkeys and chipmunks running around. "No written review can do justice to the wonderful time we spent here. We stayed in a forest dwelling with pool, and it exceeded our already high expectations. The downstairs open bathroom was large and amazing. The bedroom was very spacious, comfortable and had all the facilities we could want, including coffee machine and safe. Two balconies, and a large picture window overlooked our private pool, trees and the lake beyond. Our housekeeper was great and produced some wonderful towel sculptures...

"Amazing - no other words needed! A two night stay in one of the tree houses - had the camp to ourselves , which was perfect. Staff were fabulous and went out of their way to ensure our meals were varied both in location and food . Excellent on both counts . Wild elephant encounter on our way in, had to reroute on the way out due to ele on the road (? Same guy?) . But a great detour . Just chilled in the fish spa and ate lots. "
