"The rooms are very spacious and overlook the surrounding bushland. The restaurant and bar are excellent, and breakfast is very good. There is a lot of walking space around the property and lead to a very nice pool.

"We just spent a night here and the Convent is beautiful. Lovely surroundings, nice pool and a lovely comfy room opening out onto a lovely shared balcony with comfy seats. Breakfast was good and our waitress was super nice and attentive. Getting a local taxi in the evening was tricky so just be aware that the well known online ride share company does have taxis in the Hunter Valley! "

"This is the only place I stay at when I go to Nelson Bay. The staff are so lovely, friendly and helpful. I usually stay in a 2 bed apartment which is spacious and very clean. The beds are so comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped. There's free parking and it's a quick, easy walk to the many beautiful shops and cafes. I do struggle a bit with the last walk up the hill to the hotel but just take it slowly. The Bowling Club is a stone's throw away and the meals there are scrumptious. ...

and I enjoyed it very much. Other than the slight issue with the TV that was immediately fixed by the kind hotel staff, there were no issues what so ever. With the convenience of West Leagues club attached to the hotel, easy access and great food. "

Don’t accept digital cards, wouldn’t put deposit on card, wanted cash! Was 30 mins of ringing banks and credit card company to get full card number before we could check in. Not ideal after a road trip with a 1 and 3 year old. Thought at one point we would have to go...

"We only stayed one night but it was great. The interior was beautiful. We had two rooms one was bigger than the other. Pool needs a little work but we enjoyed it anyway. Perfect for families. The staff were super friendly."
