Absolute must do - get up pre sunrise and drive the 10-15 minutes to watch the sun rise on Alabama Hills. Absolutely stunning! Also, Pizza Factory is a solid dinner choice ;)

Lone pine is very scenic but could use a good restaurant. Most of the places we tried were mediocre. The taco truck was the best meal we had!

On this trip, there were limited dining venues ( typical of small towns), but everywhere I attempted to dine was severely understaffed and took forever to get served- accept the fast food restaurants (Carls Jr. / McDonalds).

"Comfortable and clean! Friendly staff. Gave us a space to store our extra stuff so we wouldn’t attract bears in the Whitney Portal parking lot while we were backpacking and summiting Whitney. Great, comfy bed before heading up the trail!"
