Volcano is a small town so don't expect all of the comforts of staying in a more developed area. There are several eateries in town; however, they do tend to close early. These is a laundromat, convenience store, and gas station in town.

Volcano village had just enough amenities. Laundromat, a few restaurants, a convenience store and a post office. There's also an art center down the road.

Nice town and nice to not be mainland with so much activity. Good hours but not an all night rager with every luxury of home.

Volcano is a great location for the National Park and for seeing some interesting local stuff.
"I loved everything about Kilauea Lodge. The lush rain forest surrounding the lodge, the relaxing and soothing hot tub, our very comfortable and spacious room and the delicious dinner at the lodge restaurant. We had a wonderful time!"
"We had a wonderful stay at the Volcano Forest Inn. The large room, access to the full kitchen/common area, the quiet location surrounded by the rainforest, and the private deck allowed us to enjoy a relaxing visit. The inn has a great location just outside the national park. We were able to stop at several places before they became busy. There was a good amount of information on the area and a tv with current info on the volcano. The rooms are well maintained and comfortable. Overall, it was a great visit that I strongly recommend. "
