We were there for the natural history museum which is excellent. To entertain your little ones the Marbles Kids Museum was a full day of fun for them and a really reasonable admission price, Definitely buy tickets in advance online,

Some interesting eateries and bars as well as historical buildings and tours available. There is a seedier side in some areas with homeless and various people hanging around on the streets, particularly at night, so make sure you're safe/not alone.

Definitely plenty of options to eat within walking distance. Enjoyed our stay. If you want to go to one of the best steak houses. I recommend Angus Barn. Just need to call weeks in advance to secure a reservation. We had the last reservation on 11/1.

Raleigh is a great place to be with lots of options for family fun. We were a little surprised by how aggressive some of the drivers have become. We also saw a lot of homeless people as well as a weird amount of people not using crosswalks.
