Don't go on Sundays....shops, etc. are closed. Therefore, not much to do. City museum and especially WNMU museum are worthy of time spent.

Silver City has high desert landscape, but I was surprised, that our cabin was located in tall-pine forested area just a few miles away.

The parking is convenient but the right side is not paved (only pebbles) and lots of holes driving in. It rained one day and the peddling was bad to drive in from the right side.

"Great location. Nice clean and recently updated hotel. Quiet! Continental breakfast included coffee, juice, muffins, make your own waffles and cereal choices."
"Bear Mountain Lodge is a beautifully appointed, quiet, comfortable retreat surrounded by 180 acres of wilderness. The staff was wonderful in every way. Breakfast was a work of art, as tasty as its presentation. No question we shall return if ever in that part of the country again, but we will plan to stay several days,"
