Much cheaper than staying in San Francisco, and far more affordable! Safer as well! Highly recommended. Very convenient to go to Caltrain and go to the city.

Redwood City itself seems like a decent place, for the amount of time we stayed and what we saw. It feels like an older town but has a lot of the amenities that one would be looking for (gas, food, some shopping). Not horrible.

This was on the Atherton edge of Redwood City. We walked on the Redwood City side of the hotel. It was safe, but got less nice the further north we went. Going south into Atherton is probably a better bet.

I was born and raised in Redwood City. It's definitely not the same quaint town I grew up in, but it's still nice. Great restaurants downtown within walking distance from the hotel.

San Francisco Marriott Marquis

"Fantastic location, close to public transit, great food, and coffee. Room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Only issue (kinda big) is the valet only $90/night parking. We ended up using the Hearst Parking center nearby ($35/night) instead. I get that it’s common in SF for bigger named hotels to charge a lot for parking, but just because it’s common doesn’t make it right. Didn’t outweigh the positives though and we’d definitely stay here again."
"The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are really nice with great amenities. They gave us refillable water bottles for our stay which was really nice. The roof top restaurant and bar is beautiful. This hotel is walking distance to both Chase and Oracle. "
"The architecture of the hotel is amazing ! It gives a very upscale vibe! We did not have any issues. The rooms were clean, the staff was helpful and polite. We would definitely book here again "
