"The hotel has significant grounds around it and there are lots of birds. It is just outside Arusha and so much quieter and clean air, there is a lawn and pool and tables to relax and socialize while taking in a great view of Mt Meru and all the birds. The staff are all so so happy and friendly and the place is kept immaculate, with cleaning and gardening work. The food was also excellent - flavourful and well prepared. "The grounds and villas are lovely and it's obvious alot of thought has gone into the design. The restaurant area is a complete contrast to the ambiance of the villas. It is open concept and quite institutional looking and we felt we were eating at a cafeteria. There is noise from the surrounding neighbourhood (sounded like a disco/club), which was disappointing given the amazing views from this property. We ordered room service and had the breakfast. The veggie sandwich and soup were quite good...

"The hotel is just off the busy main street so very nice to get to the quiet beautiful grounds and pool. It is very green and tranquil. The hotel inside is clean and practical. It’s a business centre hotel so quite big with decor as expected not like a small cosy hotel. Breakfast was a mix of African food and pancakes, omelette, fruit and yogurt. It was convenient for us but you will need a tuk tuk or taxi to get into town, not sure there are any shops/cafes in walking distance. The bar outside...

It's feeding time at the zoo! If you want to be reminded of some of the great animals our world is home to, you might want to pay a trip to Meserani Snake Park, located 0.3 mi (0.6 km) from central Duka Bovu.
"This review follows a separate booking issue we encountered. We had reserved five rooms, and upon arrival, we were asked to pay an additional US$10 per person for breakfast, despite the property listing stating that breakfast was included for all rooms.
The next day, the hotel manager spoke with us directly, explained the miscommunication with Expedia, and offered a solution. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Overall, it’s a reliable and trustworthy property that we would consider again."
"A great find in terms of value, staff’s helpfulness, on-site dining, and property grounds, despite the fact that the short street immediately outside of the property appears less than desirable. "
"Lovely hotel and staff - made to feel very welcome. For some reason they cancelled my airport pickup without telling me so there was no taxi to collect me, even though I’d confirmed a few days prior. Besides this, the hotel was very good. "
"Our visit to the Sanna did not start well, there was a snafu with our reservation, resulting in us being moved to their eco lodge on arrival. The staff was very gracious in trying to make up for this, and the owner personally came to right this. The hotel is beautiful, i fully recommend upgrading the suite. There is a rooftop restaurant and bar that has beautiful views. The bell tower and market is within walking distance, however vendors make walking the streets annoying. They have a transfer service from the airport that is worth reserving. The hotel has spa services that are relaxing for weary travelers. "
"Very comfortable bed and pillows. Staff was fantastic - we were leaving before breakfast on our last day and they kindly packed us to go boxes. Highly recommend!"
"Really enjoyed our stay at the Gran Melia. They made you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The amenities are great. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful."
"After climbing Kilimanjaro it was the perfect place to regroup before going on safari. Hotel staff was very attentive. Laundry service was excellent and reasonable. "
"This is a great hotel right in the middle of Arusha. Good breakfast, spacious rooms and a big beautiful garden to wander through. Take advantage of happy hour in the Hatari Bar.
A few notes: Arusha is a busy, noisy city and you're right in the middle of it. Don't expect rooms near the road to be quiet. Doesn't bother us as we live in a busy city, but might bother you if you're not used to it. The front desk will arrange a driver for you to take you wherever you need to go, but there are a few decent coffeeshops/restaurants you can walk to, as well."
"Property was exactly as pictured. Even better! The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They were very accommodating. The owner was super sweet and made sure we were good. I utilized the rooftop bar, the pool and the laundry service. The property and rooms were very clean and comfortable! The food and drinks were good and the chef was nice! And our driver, Mike, was great! I would definitely recommend staying here and will be staying here again! "
"Our stay was amazing. Lucie and staff made sure we were well looked after each night we stayed between our Safari and trek. Rooms are a great size, clean and comfortable. Food and service was amazing. The location is a little remote, but this is the appeal, quiet and the surroundings are perfect to sit back and relax. Thanks for a great stay!"
"Really great deal for the price. Excellent staff. Interesting guests. Very talkative roosters nearby. Great places to shop and eat nearby. Highly recommend. "

"This hotel was a lovely place to stay for my 2 night trip - the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was cleaned very well each day, and the restaurant served a great mix of flavourful food."
"great services like I got during my stay. The check in was while sitting in a living room, they explain me all of the option for a day tour, the took care of my laundry after treking the Kilimanjaro. The lodge looks is wonderful, all is green beautifully plants, the room is wide, clean cacfully and really nice, the food is diverse and delicious. Even the manger came to talk with you and welcome you. I have traveled all over and never enjoyed stay in lodge like I did this time. It considered 3 stars but it’s much much more !!! The best cost benefit. Strongly recomended"
"The worst ever. The hotel said that they could not find the reservation so we never even stayed there. I am still waiting for feedback from Expedia about a refund."
"The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was willing to accommodate our dietary restrictions without any issues. Juma went above and beyond to help with a vegan diet. The room was clean and the grounds/garden were beautiful. The hotel could use some upgrades, but they make up for that with their amazing staff!"
"Great stay when booking on line for cheaper price. Very clean, decent rooms for price nice and cool even with out AC, good breakfast considering price with great roof top view of mountain.
Only issue is hot water some times did work and wifi was super spotty working only 10% of time if you can connect. "
