"An absolutely magical experience, Yatusankan blew me away with the level of service and the beauty of the property. It was like staying in a museum--my wide and i remarked several times how much it felt like being inside the movie Spirited Away. Staying here was a special highlight of our trip and I hope to come back"

"Excellent stay. It was our first time using an Onsen and we had a good time using the baths after a long day. The room is clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and kind and gave us a ride to the station after we checked out. The location is close to the main sites. Would highly recommended this hotel. "

"Words feel inadequate to describe the stay here, easily one of the most beautiful accomodation and dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment you arrive, you are transported into a tranquil haven, and are looked after by the beautifully kind family that treat you to this special experience. A time to be offline in nature, to rest, to enjoy exquisite food, and have the best sleep of your life. A spiritual experience. Highly, highly recommend. "

"Every thing is perfect, the only thing I have to say is that at the app I reserved a room with private bathroom and there was not a private bathroom there."

"Convenient and a good price.
Relatively close to the morning markets. For the price you get a full room, very clean showers and bathrooms, and a good amount of space. Note that the walls are quite thin so you can hear other people pretty easily."

"Great location, walkable to both the train station and the old town.
Very friendly staff, very well equipped kitchen. Our room was clean and the shower facility was acceptable. If you're unlucky to get a room near the common areas, the doors are made of paper so you can hear everything. "

"We had a wonderful stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They were happy to make restaurant reservations for you. He traditional Japanese meal was very nice and they catered for my dislike of pork and beef. The onsen was lovely and the room was beautiful. If I was returning to Takayama, I would stay again without hesitation."

"The couple who own this inn are incredibly sweet and hospitable. I also had one of the most delicious bites of food I've ever had in my life - order the hida beef skewer with the rice and pickles. Also private onsen was the perfect thing after lots of walking in the cold."

"Parking is a bit expensive comparing with others in the area even the hotel gives you discount. Better use the parking somewhere close for a half the price for 24hrs."
"Our best hotel so far. Everything met my needs and the breakfast was tasty, and a great machine for beverages. Bath was nice and bed was decent for us and my pregnant wife. The traditional sweets place across the road, for small treats and mochi was worth it! Very happy."
"This hotel was truly something special! Spotlessly clean, great friendly service, free sake and beer in the evenings, and a very tasty breakfast too. Location in Takayama’s old town couldn’t have been better. A real highlight of my trip so far"
