Room was clean and quiet, had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and fresh croissants. Little gem of a place. Recommended"

The owners are very friendly, helpful and speak good English - which was most useful for us."

"Not to be mistaken for a hotel, this is a self service set of prehistoric rooms, except for the pricing. Cleanliness is subpar, towels are older than my grandmother, and air conditioning is not a technology that has reached this part of the world. I was desperate to get some rest, but good luck doing so in 30 deg C temperature with no air conditioning. Oh and not to forget the noise from the restaurant downstairs right beneath my window.

The staff were very friendly and helpful on check-in. The hotel itself is quite tired and needs some modernisation.
Restaurant was not open the evening we were there but the Local town of Avallon had plenty of pleasant restaurants available.

Le seul problème qui m a empêché de dormir, il y a l éclairage public qui éclaire toute la chambre malgré les petits stores en plastiques qui laissent passer la lumière. "I stayed one night with 2 friends in a triple room - but we were told at the time of booking that we could be provided with 3 single beds. Turned out not to be the case as our room had a double and a single bed and it was not possible to get 3 single beds. We survived that for one night - but cannot accept to share a bed with a double duvet - so asked reception for an extra duvet. The receptionist tried her best but was only able to provide an extra blanket and a sheet - so not ideal.
The highlight for us was no doubt the restaurant. They had a very interesting menu and with some delicious food. The salmon starter I had is one of the best starters I have ever tasted in my life - so a big compliment to the chef.
The place also had a nice swimming pool but unfortunately we were there on a rainy day - so didn't get to use it. "
