"An old hotel, but very updated. Our TV had different options for Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc. the room was nice and big, great for 2 people. And it was a 2 minute walk from Nabari Station. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The only problem we noticed was in the light there were some cobwebs. We did see a spider on the wall as well. Other than that, everything was fine!"

"Quiet little Inn at the top of the town. Easy to access the Mt Wakakusa walk and about a 30 minute walk into the towns centre! We loved seeing the deer right outside our window."

"What a delightful spot to get away from big city vibes and get close to nature in Nara Park! Incredible staff that even let me check in early as my room was ready. Everything you need at an affordable price with a great atmosphere. "

"Great spot for staying a night or two directly in the Nara Park. This allowed us to get up early and have basically the whole park to ourselves before the tourist groups arrive. Would definititely recommend it!

"Wonderful experience. Warm, friendly service. Beautiful scenery. Delicious Japanses-Western fusion cusine. There are inclusive board games, night-ride to mountain tops, and roof-top bath. We had so much fun!"

"I chose this ryokan since it was the only reasonably priced one in the Nara area. It has a beautiful garden just outside our room and the room itself was comfortable and large. The only downside to the place was the strong smell in the room and the cockroach that I had to kill as it crawled across the room."

"The staff were so friendly and welcoming! I was solo travelling and spoke very little Japanese and they were very accommodating! The breakfast was yummy with a beautiful view of the gardens, one of the ladies explained everything on the plate to me, which was helpful. The lady at the front desk also offered me a charger which I needed which was great. "

"The ryokan had an exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. They began our visit with a tea ceremony. The room was spacious and the public bath was enjoyable. They provided cool towels and ice water in the evening. They also provided very nice wagashi. We loved the location in the Nara Park. We could see deer just outside our window. The futnons were very comfortable and rooms clean."

"Lovely place with the kindest staff and a beautiful onsen. My room had the sauna and there was a lot of traffic noise from the main road so maybe not ideal for light sleepers but overall a great stay. "

"We had the 4 twin bed room. It has its own bathroom, shower room, and a large U-shaped lounge area. Overall the room was fantastic, spacious and clean. The location was great too, close to (one of the two) train station and the start of the Nara park.
Would definitely stay there again "
"Excellent property connected to the visitor center. Japanese room is fantastic. Staff are incredibly. Super close to Nara Park, shopping street and station."
"We booked a one night stay for our short trip to Nara. I wish I knew how beautiful this hotel was, I would’ve stayed one more night. The room is well decorated, simple and elegant. It has a sound system that connected to a iPod with music, but I plugged it into my iPhone (lightning port) to play nature music off YouTube. It was rare to find such a spacious room in Japan. The view from the window was everything you’d imagine of Nara: a small pond with deer hanging out on the side. I could stay in this room and relax all day. I would not think twice to book this hotel again when I return to Nara."
"The facilities were very modern and clean, and the staff was very attentive and helpful. We will certainly decide to stay at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara again in the future."
