"Usual multiple occupancy hotel. Building work going on next door which was noisy in the morning. Reasonable free parking. Was moaned at for parking our motorcycles temporarily near to our rooms, which were on the first floor, with access only by steps. This was done so we could unload the bikes to put our gear on the floor, before trudging it up the stairs. Some understanding would have been appreciated but no. Room was adequate and bathroom area was worn. Place could do with a facelift. Lots of places to eat within a short drive/long walk. Probably wouldn't stay here again."

"Great central location. Comfy bed. Fantastic friendly staff without exception. Extremely welcoming and great touch of dog bowls and biscuits. Some TLC needed in parts but overall stunning. Amazing breakfast for a celiac. The only drawback is no onsite secure parking but there is plentiful public parking only 90 seconds walk away."

"My second stay at this hotel (Yachtman) and they always outdo themselves. The rooms are fabulous and super clean. Their cleaning ladies are always helpful and respectful of our privacy, accepting to assist but not enter. The establishment is dog friendly and right on the docks- absolutely fantastic "

"A short walk into the centre. Lots of restaurants nearby and a little local supermarket. Parking on site was a bonus. Simple and basic but if all you’re doing is sleeping then you don’t need extra. Would stay again. Good value. "

"I recently stayed in this hotel for four nights. The location is superb, I arrived by train, as it is less than five minutes walk from station, and less than five minutes walk to the town which is full of great bars and restaurants and many interesting buildings to look at. The staff are very friendly, mostly English speaking. The room was very comfortable, and my balcony view was some trees. The optional breakfast was very good value. The bathroom was clean and practical. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting La Rochelle."

"Wonderful location and surprisingly quiet for being in such a central part of the city.There is no elevator so ask for a lower floor if you have bigger luggage."

"The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Great value for the price. Nice, central location , but a little removed from the noisiness of the bustling downtown area, which was a plus. Cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. When I needed anything or had questions, that’s who I would ask because front desk staff (all three that were there during our stay) were not very helpful or friendly, bordering on downright rude. "

"This hotel is about 15 mins from La Rochelle centre - The receptionist was very friendly and professional she spoke wonderful English and explained about the room and parking how to access barriers where to go to reach the town she was marvellous The hotel is on street level and has a lift The room was adequate for 2 adults and small dog - it was spotless and had all of the requirements for our stay including a well equipped kitchenette La Rochelle has a multitude of bars and restaurants all of which were dog friendly We took a boat trip to Fort Boyard which was great and dog went as well there are other trips if you want I recommend a thrip to Ile de Rae fantastic Island a short drive or sea bus from La Rochelle had lunch at the harbour at Ile Rae fabulous "

"Our room was 004. Reception did not speak English and made no attempt to understand anything. One of the doors to the car park could not be locked as it had been forced and part of the frame was missing, this meant anyone could enter the passages to rooms. Room 004: window restraint was missing so we could not open window safely. The shower head was broken, could not raised, the soap dispenser in the shower was loose. The wc seat was broken. The soap dispenser by the sink was on the floor having been pulled off the wall- hence NO soap by the sink. Bulb missing over the sink making it difficult with limited light. I have already contacted Hotels.com auto talk and told this will be looked at. The pool was very nice I have stayed at the Hotel some years ago but will not be staying again. The whole hotel needed a refresh, including the very poor buffet breakfast. Nothing could compare with a B&B Hotel!!!!"

"Riding 5 motorcycles down to the Dordogne so for us it was a very good stopover. Super clean and tidy , very secure and we had a pleasant evening meal in the dining area, very good value."
