"Perfectly located to explore Langres, this is a definite recommendation for eveyone that enjoys a stay away from standard hotel rooms. Lovely place with carefully furnished rooms, a really good bed for sound sleep on the quiet edge of central Langres. Super friendly hosts that take care and provide a lovely, cozy atmosphere. "

This wasn't made any easier by her statement that "she spoke no English" - the website clearly states multilingual staff. (In fact it later became clear she did speak English).
The 'living-room' is actually set out as a shop and did not feel welcoming - I was not invited to use it anyway.

"The Auberge de l’Abbatiale is a wonderful small family run hotel with excellent accommodation in a historic and very interesting building. Very friendly owner and staff. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Thoroughly recommended as a stop off point while travelling through France as it is located in a picturesque historic village fairly close to an exit on the A31 (13 km away). Half way between Calais and the south of France."
